Cartoon Shows Based on Sunday Funny Comic Strips

In the past, the Funnies–the comic strips which appear in your daily newspaper and in color on Sundays–were a great form of entertainment for the whole family. With the decline of the newspaper, they would appear to be waning. However, many of these strips have made their way on to television and thanks to You Tube and other sites, they will live forever.

Perhaps the most popular comic strip to make it to television was Peanuts. The late Charles Schulz’s characters live forever in the many specials that were broadcast for decades in prime time.

Some of the greatest cartoon characters are animals and some of these cartoon animals have withstood the test of time. Is There Too Much Violence in Classic Cartoon Shows

Violent cartoons are a Saturday morning ritual for many children, and have been for many decades. Many classic cartoons, such as “Looney Tunes”, contain lots of violence between the characters. These cartoons were never intended for children viewers. They were originally made to be shown before feature films in movie theatres for adult viewing. In recent years, cartoons such as “Pokemon” have become known for their violent content and popularity among kids.
