Favorite Cartoon Shows That Families Can Enjoy Watching Together
There are dozens of cartoon shows on these days, but few are suitable for families. In fact, many cartoon shows are designed for adult audiences. It is sometimes difficult to discern at first glance which shows are for adults only and which can be viewed by families. Rather than take the time to sample various shows, read on for a short list of some of the best family cartoon shows.
Caillou
Caillou is a show geared toward pre-school kids, but adults can enjoy watching it with their children, too. The show is about a four-year-old boy who goes to preschool and learns new things about his small world in each episode. Caillou learns simple, important childhood lessons, such as how to be a good friend. Parents who watch with kids can discuss these simple concepts with their child as Caillou learns each life lesson.
The Berenstain Bears
This show is based on a book series that has been around since the 1960s. The books and the television show both focus on a family of cartoon bears who live in a treehouse. The series teaches children important lessons, such as the importance of eating healthy, exercising, making friends and the importance of doing well in school.
School House Rock
This series was a group of short cartoons originally broadcast in the 1960s and ’70s. Though Schoolhouse Rock no longer airs, it can be purchased online. Each short, animated skit consists of educational lessons for school-aged children, such as lessons on conjunctions, numbers and even the American legislative system. Each lesson is set to music, thus the title School House Rock. The show became so popular, that some teachers continue to use the cartoons as supplemental material in classrooms today.
