From the hills of Silverlake, California, The Green and Yellow TV create a sound rich with harmonies, lush with guitars and overflowing with feeling and style.
The four-piece outfit seamlessly blend together some of their favorite influences (pop pioneers like The Who, Fleetwood Mac, The Zombies, Led Zeppelin, The Beach Boys and R.E.M.) with groundbreaking artists like Elliott Smith, Supergrass, The Flaming Lips and Radiohead.
After the release of their debut EP, Scarecrow Museum, in 1999, The Green and Yellow TV played festivals such as North by Northwest, South by Southwest and the CMJ Marathon. National attention soon followed as the record's single, "Here Comes Jack Young", received strong college airplay, as well as spins on K-ROCK in Los Angeles and WNNX in Atlanta. From their extensive touring and local club shows, the band sold over 2,500 copies of the EP.
Now, "The Big Red Machine" and "Betty," two songs from the brand new full-length record, as performed by The Green and Yellow TV, are currently garnering extensive worldwide airplay--most notably catching the attention of John Peel who added "The Big Red Machine" to his legendary BBC show. Further, that track was selected by MP3.com as their Revolutionary Recommendation and received over 2,500 plays in four days. It reached as high as #20 on their Pop & Rock chart and is still consistently downloaded.
The band has also just released a two-song single: "Failure in Five Movements" and "In With You."
Turn on The Green and Yellow TV and listen to the endless possibilities before you.
